Edward Ward Hayden
September 30, 1922 - February 14, 2009
Zionville, NC- Mr. Edward Ward Hayden, 86, died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center in Zionville, NC.
Mr. Hayden was born in Mansfield, PA where he attended Mansfield State Teachers College. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later worked for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. After retirement in 2001, he moved to Zionville, NC, where he enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening. Mr. Hayden was preceded in death by his wife Deidre Adams Hayden; parents, Joseph Lord and Mildred Colgrove Hayden and his brother, Joseph Lord Hayden, Jr.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Sandra Hayden Henry of Zionville, NC and Barbara Kamiyama of Kiryu, Japan; grandson, William Henry, IV of Manuel, TX; granddaughters, Sarah Jones of Sugar Hill, GA, Johannah Konoike of Osaka, Japan and three great-grandchildren, Fiona, George and Lily.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with The Reverend Mariusz Fuks, Celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.
